The operation and maintenance of 10kV distribution networks is a relatively cumbersome task in the daily maintenance of power grids, and the checking and comparison of setting values are of great importance. The screens of distribution network protection devices are relatively small, making on-site checking of setting values time-consuming and labor-intensive.

The BDZ-60 Intelligent Verification Device for Protection Setting Values is developed for the daily operation and maintenance of substation protection devices. It is capable of setting value packet capturing and setting value comparison, and reads setting values through the printing port. This avoids the operational risks caused by connecting external network devices to switches, and greatly improves the efficiency of distribution network setting value verification work.

Test Wiring

The BDZ-60 is equipped with a serial port cable for the printing port. If the substation is equipped with a printer for protection devices, the device can be directly connected to the serial cable between the protection device and the printer. In most cases, there is no printer configured in distribution network operation and maintenance. In such cases, the serial cable needs to be directly connected to the printing output port of the terminal block of the protection device.

Parameter Configuration

  1. Create a substation name and add a new bay on the setting value management interface.

  1. Select the newly created substation and bay on the setting value collection interface, set the printing baud rate in the parameter settings, and click "Collect Setting Values" to read the setting value list of the protection device.

  1. Click the setting value sheet management interface to view the setting value list just captured, and then import it into the setting value verification module.

  1. The test results can directly show whether the set values are consistent with the actual setting values in the setting value sheet. Green indicates conformity, while red indicates inconsistency between the setting value sheet and the settings of the protection device.

In this test, the BDZ-60 Intelligent Verification Device for Protection Setting Values was

used for setting value verification, which significantly reduced the operation and

maintenance workload and working time. The device captures setting values accurately and reliably, features simple and clear result comparison, and is easy to operate, winning high praise from on-site operation and maintenance personnel.
