In the construction of smart substations, the requirements for secondary equipment to monitor and control primary equipment are constantly increasing. However, the functions of secondary equipment such as self-operating condition monitoring, status analysis, parameter verification, and function enable/disable recheck are still in the continuous exploration stage. Some smart substations are equipped with secondary equipment online monitoring devices, which install online monitoring and intelligent diagnosis systems at the substation end to monitor the operating conditions of all secondary equipment in the station, send a large amount of data to the monitoring master station, and enable master station monitoring personnel to identify the operation status of secondary equipment. This method has high investment costs and complicates the secondary equipment system of the substation. Meanwhile, it imposes high requirements on monitoring personnel, which may lead to risks such as missed judgment and misjudgment of important operation information.

To further enhance the operational reliability of smart substations, some operation and maintenance units adopt manual patrols of intelligent secondary equipment for compensation and prevention. However, the patrol and verification workload is heavy, time-consuming and labor-intensive, with a risk of errors. Moreover, most inspection records are paper-based, which is not conducive to the comprehensive data analysis of intelligent secondary equipment.

△ BDZ-60 Portable Visual Operation and Maintenance & Intelligent Inspection Device

Based on the IEC61850 standard, Wuhan Haomai has developed the BDZ-60 Portable Visual Operation and Maintenance & Intelligent Inspection Device, a portable one-click patrol system for secondary equipment in smart substations integrating intelligent operation and maintenance, secondary system visualization, network status analysis, intelligent fault diagnosis and multi-substation data management. The device monitors the status of secondary equipment in smart substations and conducts one-click inspections, integrates on-site data of secondary equipment in operation, analyzes and manages historical data and reports, solves the "information island" problem among different secondary equipment, and provides data support for the condition-based maintenance of secondary equipment. By building a troubleshooting experience library, it offers experience guidance for subsequent fault handling, realizes intelligent status monitoring and fault diagnosis of secondary equipment, and improves the quality and level of operation and maintenance.

Conventional online monitoring devices can only operate in an online network-connected mode, which cannot achieve mobile monitoring of multiple substations. The full implementation of the monitoring system requires high investment. In addition, the system can only perform information interaction and data analysis for substations equipped with online monitoring, and cannot monitor those without such configuration. It can only operate and manage the currently configured substations and cannot build a troubleshooting experience library.

The BDZ-60 Portable Visual Operation and Maintenance & Intelligent Inspection Device is lightweight and easy to carry. It can conduct targeted special verification work according to changes in substation operation modes, build historical operation and maintenance records and a troubleshooting experience library, realize multi-substation management, and generate corresponding verification reports.

Operation Method

Read and parse the SCD file of the current substation, and set the IP address within the current substation.

Start the one-click patrol function to automatically read channel data, display visual network communication, and conduct automatic comparison and verification of press plate settings.

Monitor changes in electrical quantity, switch quantity information, action information, and alarm information messages.

In case of anomalies, the verification interface and monitoring interface will highlight the current channel alarm information in red, and a continuously flashing red alarm light will appear on the status bar.

After verification is completed, one-click generate verification and monitoring alarm reports, with report management functions available—click to view the generated reports.

On-site Application

Connect the device to the network cable, configure network parameters, and run the one-click patrol function to collect data from the smart substation into the device. Conduct press plate setting verification, online monitoring and analysis of electrical quantities and action information of current equipment, and one-click generate verification reports and alarm reports for current equipment. The entire process only requires one network cable to connect to the secondary equipment, featuring convenient operation and fast processing, truly achieving "the device moves with the operator", greatly improving the operation and maintenance efficiency of secondary equipment, and ensuring the safe and stable operation of smart substations.
