Case Practice | Automatic Point-to-Point Checking of Substation Monitoring Information Realizing

The acceptance of monitoring information is an essential step for newly-built, reconstructed and expanded substations to connect to the monitoring master station. The traditional acceptance work adopts the mode of manual point-by-point checking. Before the telecontrol point-to-point checking, the information is verified and a point list is compiled. During the checking, the master station and substation commissioning personnel communicate by telephone to manually verify whether the data received by the master station is consistent with the actual data of the substation. Substation commissioning personnel use debugging tools to operate the opening and closing of switches and disconnecting links, and apply voltage and current quantities. The entire point-to-point checking work is time-consuming and low-efficiency with heavy workload for personnel. Frequent screen swiping of acceptance signals is prone to problems such as missed monitoring of monitoring signals. In recent years, with the rapid expansion of new energy power stations, especially during the peak period of new energy power station grid connection, the task of manual point-to-point checking has become arduous.

To address these issues, Wuhan Haomai has developed the DMA-1000 Substation Monitoring Information Automatic Point-to-Point Checking Device based on IEC61850 and IEC104 protocols. As a full-link acceptance system for substation monitoring information, it has the function of synchronous acceptance of telecontrol devices and monitoring background, and realizes intelligent or automatic point-to-point checking of monitoring information at both the substation and master station ends, completing full-loop and full-information acceptance of monitoring information. Automatic acceptance can greatly improve the efficiency of monitoring information acceptance, reduce work intensity, shorten the commissioning period, and is applicable to the construction, reconstruction and expansion projects of IEC61850 communication smart substations or conventional substations of various voltage levels. At the same time, it supports direct quantity injection to merging units in the station, controls the effective operation of protection devices, so that the point-to-point checking in the station is not only limited to the test of telecontrol devices, but truly restores the working mode and operation and maintenance mode in the actual point-to-point checking work.

Multi-process Management Mode: Supports simultaneous simulation of multiple devices, capable of simulating more than 200 IED devices at the same time.

Online CID File Verification Function: Can read SCD model files online and compare them with SCD files to verify the consistency of report control blocks, protection setting values, parameter setting values and remote control models.

Dual Simulation Function: Supports simultaneous simulation of devices and dispatching master station. By sending MMS and receiving IEC104 messages, it realizes automatic closed-loop verification of telecontrol device forwarding table configuration and automatically generates inspection reports.

IEC104 Master Station Simulation Function: Realizes synchronous acceptance of information between telecontrol devices and monitoring background, and verifies the consistency between telecontrol configuration and substation signals.

Protection and Measurement & Control Device Simulation Function: One-click triggers signals such as alarms, protection events and switch status in the device, and sends MMS messages.

Intelligent Verification & Automatic Point-to-Point Checking: Realizes intelligent verification or automatic point-to-point checking of remote signals and telemetry according to the sequence of the regulation and control information list.

Automatic Test Scheme Generation: Automatically generates test schemes to control point-to-point loop verification, automatically controls the output of source signals from measurement & control and protection devices, and conducts joint automatic acceptance with the master station.

Flexible Test Scheme Editing: Supports manual editing of schemes and automatic matching of test schemes, completes actual quantity injection to protection devices, and verifies the reliable implementation of protection tests; supports various types of protection tests, and is applicable to the acceptance of conventional substations and smart substations.

Test Procedures

  1. Obtain the SCD, RCD and dispatching point list from the on-site telecontrol manufacturer and background manufacturer, ask the background manufacturer to assign MMS network IP addresses for the local machine and telecontrol device, and import the SCD, RCD and dispatching point list into the device.

  2. Set the local IP address. In this test, the DMA-1000 Substation Monitoring Information Automatic Point-to-Point Checking Device is configured with four network cards, and the IP addresses of the used network ports are corresponding to the IP addresses of the background manufacturer one by one.
  3. Open the master station joint debugging interface on the debugging page, click to start the service, and the device will simulate all devices in the station to establish connection with the telecontrol unit and the background. The order of this table is the same as that of the point list. At this time, select the corresponding IED information to start the point-to-point checking.

  4. According to the IEC104 messages received by the dispatching background and the on-site background, automatically judge whether the test item is completed, and finally generate a test report. The device supports batch testing and single-item testing, with flexible test methods, suitable for complex and variable test environments.

In this test, a total of 2586 remote signal points were checked. With the batch test function of the DMA-1000 Substation Monitoring Information Automatic Point-to-Point Checking Device, all point-to-point checking tasks were completed within 2.5 hours, which provided guarantee for the orderly progress of power transmission work and won unanimous recognition and praise from the power transmission and transformation company.
