Rapid distance protection test method

Fast distance protection mainly determines the action time of the protection device based on the impedance or distance between the measured fault point and the installation location of the protection device, and is particularly suitable for near end fault protection of ultra-high voltage transmission lines. When the short-circuit point is close to the protection installation location, the measured impedance is small and the action time is short; When the short-circuit point is far away from the protection installation site, the measured impedance increases and the action time increases, ensuring that the protection selectively cuts off the faulty line and has high sensitivity and reliability.
The following introduces the use of the Jibaoxing-Z70 handheld digital analog integrated relay protection tester to complete the CSC-103 fast distance protection test, paying attention to distinguishing it from the distance I section test.

2) Protection pressure plate setting:
Set the "Distance Protection" soft pressing plate to "1" and the other functional soft pressing plates to "0".

Jibaozhixing-Z70 handheld digital analog integrated relay protection tester has functions of protection, merging unit, intelligent terminal testing, and network analyzer digital protection analysis. The Jibao Xing-Z70 will output SV to the protection device through optical fiber, while receiving the action time sent by the protection device through GOOSE. The tester will be connected to the direct sampling and jumping port of the protection.

Test method:

Open the main interface of the software, select the state sequence test module in the general testing category to set parameters, simulate the test conditions from normal state to fault state, and set the state to normal state.

State 2: Fault state. Simulate A phase to ground, fault voltage UA=(1+k) I * Z=1.67 * 6 * 2=0.004V. The principle of Beijing Sifang's fast distance input: distance protection input, fast distance control word input, line total length set to 50km or more, 5 times or more rated current, fault time less than 30ms, and fault within 50% of the set value of section I.

After completing the above parameter settings, the experiment can begin. Once the status is checked, the protection sampling is normal. After waiting for the PT to disconnect and return, press the button to trigger the protection action.

Test Conclusion

The fast distance protection is similar to the distance I section test method, with the difference being the action time and action message. The fast distance action message is "distance I section action", but without X or R values, and the action time is less than 17ms, while the distance I section action message is "distance I section action, with X and R values, and an action time of about 30ms.
