220kV Substation Power Injectional Test Case Study | Vector Verification with HTA-3300 & HTV-6000 | High-Voltage Load Simulation

1. Equipment Overview

Deployed HTA-3300 3P Smart High-Current Source (12A RMS, 36A peak) and HTV-6000 3P Smart High-Voltage Source (180V RMS) paired with the YD-300E Wireless Remote Master for synchronized power injectional testing.

2. Pre-Test Safety Protocols

  • Confirmed no parallel testing on adjacent circuits.
  • Ensured CT secondary circuits were never open and PT secondary circuits never shorted.
  • Validated single-point grounding at injection interfaces to eliminate stray currents.

3. Test Wiring & Configuration

Disconnected grounding switch 280070, connected HTV-6000 outputs to Busbar I-B PT terminals (A/B/C phases).
  • Isolated switch 28007 and bridged its auxiliary contact to enable voltage sampling.

  • Ensured switches 4885/2600/2801 were closed, isolating unrelated branches.

  • Injected 240A at 110kV Line 798 via HTA-3300, phase-reversed to 220kV for differential balance.
  • Disabled grounding switches 79830/50130, retaining only critical grounding points.

4. Parameter Configuration

Using the YD-300E Wireless Controller:

  • Linked all devices via RF, configuring 0° phase angles for balance testing and 180° reversal for superposition.
  • Balanced Mode: Achieved 0A differential current (<0.05A residual) across 220kV/110kV CTs (2500:1 ratio).
  • Superposition Mode: Measured 0.096A differential (±0.05% accuracy), validating vector alignment.

5. Results & Compliance

  • Confirmed IEC 61869-2/3 compliance in CT/PT ratio and phase displacement.
  • Zero differential drift under 40kV simulated knee-point conditions.
  • Automated reports generated via HTV-6000’s logging system for audit trails.
